Kittitas County Public Hospital District No. 2 Appoints Chris Pauley to Board of Commissioners

UPPER KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. — The Kittitas County Public Hospital District No. 2 Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Pauley to the Board, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Commissioner Ingrid Vimont.

The Board extends its sincere appreciation to Commissioner Vimont for her service to the District and the residents of Upper Kittitas County.

Pauley brings more than a decade of emergency response, public safety, and community-service experience to the position. Since 2013, he has served with Kittitas County Fire Protection District No. 6/Roslyn Fire as an assistant fire chief, emergency medical technician, and firefighter.

In that role, Pauley provides operational leadership and administrative oversight, supervises and mentors approximately 20 volunteer firefighters and emergency responders, supports emergency planning and incident command functions, and helps maintain the readiness of the district’s emergency apparatus. He has also led fire-prevention, public-education, and community risk-reduction initiatives.

In addition to his fire-service experience, Pauley brings a strong background in operations management, employee development, inventory oversight, customer service, and team leadership. He also served eight years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

“I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your organization and the communities you serve,” Pauley shared in his application. He also emphasized his commitment to community engagement, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.

The Board welcomes Pauley and looks forward to the experience, practical leadership, and community perspective he will bring to the District.

Pauley was appointed commissioner on July 20th, 2026.

Cle Elum, Wash. (December 12, 2024)

The Board of Commissioners for Kittitas County Public Hospital District No. 2 (KCPHD#2) has appointed local resident Rhonda Holden, RN, BSN, MSN, as the new Superintendent of KCPHD#2. The decision was made during the regular Board meeting on November 16, following the retirement of Julie Petersen, who served as the Superintendent of KCPHD#2 and CEO of KCPHD#1.

Rhonda Holden brings extensive experience in healthcare leadership and rural community service to her new role. A longtime resident of Roslyn, Holden has dedicated her career as a registered nurse to addressing the unique healthcare challenges of rural communities. She currently serves as the Chief Ancillary Officer at Kittitas Valley Healthcare (KVH) and has been the Director of Strategic Initiatives for KCPHD#2.

Holden’s impressive resume includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), along with decades of hands-on clinical experience and strategic advisory roles. Her leadership has focused on enhancing access to quality healthcare services, developing innovative care delivery models, and fostering collaboration between healthcare providers across the county.

In her new role as Superintendent, Holden is poised to build upon the district’s mission of delivering accessible and high-quality healthcare to the community.
